Dining With the Kappas
On Wednesday March 28, 2012, the brothers of the Queens Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hosted our iKARE (International Kappa Action Relief Effort) initiative titled Dining with the Kappas at TGI Fridays in Valley Stream. This event was coordinated by Vice Polemarch Leon Heyliger and was well organized. Several members of the fraternity came out to support the cause as well as the friends and family members of brothers. The idea behind Dining with the Kappas is that 20% of every bill would be donated to relief funds for disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. This is a national initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and has been put in place since the tragic earthquake that hit Haiti a few years back. Special thank you to the brothers, their families, and the friends that came out and supported the event. Brothers in attendance were Jermaine Wright, Derrick Isaac, Thierry Cazeau, Caleb Terry, Edwidge Turenne, Caron Washington, Daniel Dodard, Ed Moore, Derrick Bryant, & Carl Baker. We would also like to thank anyone else that may have supported throughout the day but was unable to attend dinner with the bros towards the later part of the night.
