Thank you to the brothers in attendance: Caleb Terry, Thierry Cazeau, Guichard Cadet, Jackson Georges, Bernard Robert, Gavin Bennett for helping to facilitate the session, I truly appreciate your time. I am very excited about our next session as the topic is near and dear to my heart. We will be visiting the Schomburg Center (Harlem, NY)

 Feed The needy

On Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013, the Queens Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. had its annual Feed the Needy Thanksgiving Initiative. But this year was a little different in that the event was fully executed by the chapter. In previous years the chapter would volunteer at a local church or soup kitchen and help serve food. However this year, the chapter commissioned a caterer, found a location to serve the food from, and contacted a myriad of homeless shelters, senior homes, foster care homes, and non-profits in the Jamaica, Queens area to let them know about the event. We provided hot meals to the underserved community of Jamaica, Queens. The food was sponsored by caterer Kashema Williams of SHE CAN COOK!, who provided delicious meals for the community. The event was held at Parish of Grace Community Hall in Jamaica from 11am-1pm. It was well attended by over 30 brothers and volunteers from the area. QA was able to make a huge difference in the lives of many as people consistently throughout the afternoon came by to get a hot meal. Brothers not only setup the event, served, and cleaned up, but most importantly had conversations with individuals that were eating. We look forward to making this event bigger and better next year.
