Breast Cancer Walk

On Sunday October 21, 2012 the brothers of the Queens Alumni chapter took part in the American Cancer Society 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Flushing Meadows – Corona Park. Joined by 15,000 people walking for a cure the brothers of Queens Alumni raised $1,010 to contribute to the $905,000 raised thus far. The brothers enjoyed the incredible experience of raising funds in the fight to end breast cancer and look forward to doing it again next year.

 

Debate Watch Party

 In an ongoing effort to increase voter awareness in the Queens community on Monday October 22, 2012 the brothers of the Queens Alumni chapter hosted a presidential debate watch party. The debate watch party took place at the office of Brothers Clyde Vanel located in the Cambria Heights section of Queens and approximately 60 community people came out to watch the debate with us. Light refreshments were provided during the debate and after the debate we have a brief discussion about civic engagement and the role we all play as citizens and voters.
