OcktoberFest
On October 22nd, The Queens Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi hosted Nupes Night out Ocktoberfest at Studio Square Beer Garden located at 35-33 36th Street in Long Island City, NY. It was a well attended event. Brothers, friends, and family came out and enjoyed a nice evening with a focus on one Kappa. We would like to thank all the brothers that came out to the event.
Breast Cancer Walk
On Sunday October 16,2011 the Brothers of the Queens Alumni Chapter along with Brothers from Phi, Kappa Rho, and Xi Omicron participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society's premier event to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer. More than just the name of a walk, it describes the amazing progress being made to defeat this disease. The Brothers walked alongside the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc, Kappa Xi Chapter's team. The 5 mile walk started at approximately 9:30am and ended around 1:30pm. Other National Pan-Hellenic Council members were present as well from Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
